The Karaburun Sailing Club, is organising sailing courses for the Karaburun youth as well as for young girls and boys who are spending their holidays in Karaburun.

Starting from Primary School and through a number of educational and awareness raising programs, the people of Karaburun are made sensible to environmental questions like the preservaion of the Monk seal and other various socio-cultural aspects of the peninsula.

The City Council of the Local Agenda 21 of Karaburun City, through its working groups, is dealing with questions on  environment, tourism and culture and tries to research the history of the region, its cultural heritage, traditions and customs in order to transmit this information to future generations.

A group of people are in the process of setting up the Association for the Development of Tourism, Culture, Art and the Environment of the Karaburun Peninsula. The Association believes that the unspoiled nature, culture and the old traditions of the Karaburun Pensinsula are an important treasure which should be used for the development of projects in the field of alternative tourism and thus create an example for the world.

One of the other means to get Karaburun known throughout the world is the  "Karaburun Guitar Festival" which  so far took place three times, but which has been suspended because of the difficulties in finding sponsors. Nevertheless the organisers are still firmly decided to organise further editions of this International Guitar Festival where world famous guitar players perform and give lesson in the middle of a remarkable natural scenery.
